On a Boat that Day

Morris County Conference brings back its brunch and boats event

There’s nothing like enjoying the waters of Lake Hopatcong. But the Morris County Conference doesn’t have to go very far to enjoy the nautical life.

On Aug. 2, the Morris County Conference held its third annual Brunch and Boats event benefiting the NJSPBA Survivor and Welfare Fund. The day started with a top-notch brunch full of shrimp, lobster and chicken francaise at the Stone Water on Lake Hopatcong.

But the party didn’t stop there. After brunch, the event ramped up with the parade of boats to Byram Cove, where multiple members took their boats out onto the water.

Members from all over the state, including NJSPBA President Patrick Colligan, were in attendance. Morris County Conference Vice Chair Eric Sudak and his wife kept the grill going on their pontoon all afternoon.

Overall, the Brunch and Boats event raised around $6,000 for the Survivor and Welfare Fund. If you’re wondering if Brunch and Boats will be back, the answer is a resounding yes. Next’s year event is already on the calendar for Aug. 14, 2024.
